The Venue
Palazzo Du Mesnil

Originally commissioned by Oscar Du Mesnil and designed by architect Arrougé, the building was built in the late 19th century with meticulous attention to architectural detail. This elegant palace features ornate interiors adorned with boiseries, gilded embellishments, marble fireplaces, and a preserved fresco in the great hall. The structure, constructed using imported Maltese stone and likely crafted by Belgian artisans, blends various late 19th-century French architectural motifs both inside and out. The building's history includes changes in ownership, resulting in some loss of decorations and painted panels, along with general wear. In 2000, it came under ownership of the University of Naples L'Orientale, now housing administrative offices, the University Museum System, and the Umberto Scerrato Museum, along with the Museum of the African Society of Italy.
